E-Commerce / Topic guide

E-commerce is an operating model, not just a storefront

Align product information, fulfilment and customer support before increasing traffic.

A product page should help a customer make an informed decision. Describe the item, relevant specifications, price, delivery expectations and material limitations. Use images that represent the product accurately.

Map the order journey from payment to delivery and any return. Identify who owns stock updates, shipping communication and support questions. A polished storefront cannot compensate for an unreliable fulfilment process.

Review the economics of an order after payment fees, packaging, delivery, returns and support time. Different products may need different minimum margins or shipping arrangements. Avoid assuming that revenue growth automatically improves cash flow.

Publish clear policies that match actual operations and applicable consumer rules. Test checkout and transactional messages regularly, especially after changes to payment or shipping integrations. Protect customer data and use reputable maintained payment services.
